For my version, I've started the song with just one guitar and drums. On the second pass, the bass enters. The acoustic rhythm guitar starts strumming in the bridge. At the very end, all the instruments drop out as the solo guitar sleepwalks alone.

Unable to fall asleep one night after a gig, the Farina brothers decided to write some music, using the tape recorder to first record the harmonies to what would become "Sleep Walk".
It was written, recorded, and released in 1959. It rose to #1 on the Billboard charts in the last two weeks of September 1959.
The third songwriter, Ann Farina had nothing to do with writing the song. She wasn't their sister as rumors claimed: she was actually Santo's wife. It was a shrewd move on Santo's part to make sure that he and his wife would get two-thirds of the publishing instead of just half had it only been credited to the brothers.
